The Story Behind Dalgety

MEET OUR OWNERS | STEVE. ANGUS. GAV.

In 2024, Angus, Stephen and Gavan took over Dalgety Public House, a long-time favourite locals spot in the heart of Teneriffe. With over 60 years of combined experience running some of Brisbane’s most respected venues, these three hospitality veterans now have a venue to truly call their own. They are dedicated to continuing Dalgety’s legacy by offering excellent food, cold drinks and a warm, welcoming atmosphere where community and hospitality come together.

Went here for a lunch/dinner and it did not disappoint! Food and service was amazing, friendly staff, and you can really see the effort and pride the chef’s put into the food. It was DELICIOUS and I will definitely be back! 10/10 would recommend 🙌🏽

Absolutely love Dalgety! Discovered this gem last month and have been a regular ever since. They offer fantastic weekly specials and I’ve pretty much tried everything on the menu by now. The atmosphere is relaxed, and the staff are always friendly. I especially enjoy their live music and the $2 oysters on Sundays. Recently, they started serving breakfast, and their $12 breakfast special has quickly become a favorite of mine. Highly recommend checking this place out! They are dog friendly too!

A great find, particularly on a Monday night...if you are a Steak lover! 2 for 1 Steaks of your choice on a Monday night and the portions are very generous and delicious. There are other offers throughout the week, plus a number of vegetarian dishes. Teneriffe Ferry Terminal is about a 7 minute walk and there is street parking.

Have been to Dalgety many times as our local pub in Teneriffe, particularly for Tuesday parmi night that we absolutely love. It’s such a good deal for value ($25 with a beer/wine/soft drink) - the parmi’s are consistency huge and delicious with tender chicken, quality ingredients and so much flavour. The fries are very nicely seasoned, and I’m not a slaw lover - but I smash and crave this creamy slaw. Monday steak night was great, but they only offered gravy which was the only let down. They also do great lunch specials - $20 with a beer, wine or soft drink. Staff are friendly, and the recent change of layout and tables is much improved. Plenty of dining both inside and outside on the deck, it’s nicely decorated inside, bathrooms are modern and clean. Great spot to watch sport, they do trivia as well, and there’s sometimes live music too. Overall it’s a fantastic local pub for Teneriffe and it’s always a pleasure coming here.

Staff was very friendly and the the food was fkin great! Came with 2 other friends and tried the nachos and corn ribs. GET THE FKIN CORN RIBS. Ordered takeout of the bugrolls for midnight snack even though i was full. 🙂

Food was incredible! 3rd time coming, always good for group gatherings. Lots of space and staff were very outgoing. Would highly recommend this spots for a social night out or even watching the UFC fights on a Sunday!
